- Highwood Oil purchase high quality oil assets in the Peace River Oil region of Northern Alberta for a total transaction value of $93.8 million
- Bellatrix Exploration 2019, all five operated wells were drilled off existing pad sites. The ability to utilize existing above ground infrastructure, access roads, and gathering systems provides a competitive advantage for the Company as it seeks to maximize long term returns from its development program. All-in average Spirit River well costs (drill, complete, equip and tie-in) in the first quarter of 2019 have averaged approximately $3.4 million, consistent with the cost performance achieved in 2018.
- Birchcliff Energy Ltd. has modified its drill bit, drilling mud and downhole motor selection to reduce drill times and has trialled the use of rotary steerable technology for smoother well trajectories and faster drilling times. In addition, Birchcliff will continue to utilize multi-well pad drilling and compressed natural gas to displace diesel from its drilling and completions operations in 2019, which helps to reduce costs and lessen its environmental footprint.
- Storm Resources Regulatory approval for the sour gas plant at Nig was received in April with site construction expected to start in May. Field activity in the second and third quarters will be focused on the Nig area and is expected to include completion of a four-well pad, drilling and completing an acid gas injection well and starting construction of the sour gas plant. The four-well pad to be completed at Nig includes two wells in the upper Montney, one in the mid and one in the lower.
- Pipestone Energy expects to commence drilling six wells on its 6-24 pad beginning in early Q3 2019, followed by an additional three wells (of six) on a new pad in the northwest portion of its acreage prior to year end. With respect to completions, the Company expects to begin completing seven wells on its 3-1 pad in late May 2019.
- Altura Energy plans to implement a waterflood pilot project at Leduc-Woodbend. An existing horizontal well is planned to be converted to a water injector and two of the four wells are expected to be drilled offsetting the injector at 200 meter inter-well spacing compared to the existing 400 meter spacing.
