Private Operators US Engineering Contacts Package

Private operators are driving a significant share of current U.S. drilling activity—but knowing which companies are active is only the first step.

The new U.S. Private Operator Account & Engineering Contact Package connects current market activity with the people responsible for planning, executing and optimizing oil and gas projects.

Contact Count by Named Contact Role

Other Contact Roles

The report contains 2,453 engineering contacts, with a strong concentration among private U.S. operators.

  • Texas dominates the database with 1,139 contacts, while Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico collectively account for 62.5% of all records.
  • Houston is the largest commercial and engineering center, followed by Oklahoma City, Dallas, Midland and Denver.
  • Mewbourne Oil Company and Continental Resources are the two largest individual account groups. After consolidating account-name variations, Mewbourne has approximately 230 contacts and Hilcorp has 216 contacts.
  • Production, operations and facilities account for 715 contacts. The report also includes 182 drilling engineers and 112 completion engineers, providing strong coverage across the well-development lifecycle.
  • The 1,387 contacts classified as Other should not be considered low-priority or miscellaneous. This group contains approximately 354 reservoir engineering contacts and 297 petroleum or general engineering contacts.
  • Reservoir and petroleum/general engineering positions account for nearly 47% of the Other category. These contacts are particularly relevant for reservoir evaluation, development planning, well economics, production forecasting and technical vendor selection.
  • Other also contains valuable specialists in automation and controls, data and software, development and optimization, environmental, mechanical, process and electrical engineering.
  • Steady State operators represent 64.7% of the report and should be the primary targets for recurring drilling, completions, production, automation, facilities and maintenance-related services.
  • Next Tier operators represent 22.8% and are well suited to trigger-based outreach connected to new permits, rig additions, acquisitions, pad development and increased capital spending.
  • The 237 New or Updated contacts provide the strongest starting point for campaigns, particularly the 199 contacts associated with Steady State operators.
  • For sales targeting, segment contacts by engineering specialty and match the offering to the operational problem: drilling services for drilling engineers, completion technologies for completion engineers, artificial lift and chemicals for production engineers, reservoir software and subsurface services for reservoir engineers, and infrastructure or automation solutions for facility and operations engineers.
