Select’s $700M Pilot Water Deal Expands Delaware Basin Network

Select Water Solutions to Acquire Pilot Water for $700 Million, Expanding Delaware Basin Network

Select Water Solutions has agreed to acquire Pilot Water Solutions for $700 million, comprising $600 million in cash and $100 million in stock. Up to $15 million in additional cash depends on operational milestones in early 2027. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory clearance.

Pilot brings a produced-water network anchored in the Delaware Basin, with 2.7 million barrels per day of active permitted disposal capacity and more than 700 miles of pipelines. More than 80% of its produced-water volumes originate in the Delaware, and long-term contracts underpin more than 80% of annual revenue. Select expects Pilot to generate $100 million–$110 million in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in 2026, rising to $120 million–$130 million in 2027.

OilGasLeads’ Texas well data adds detail to Pilot’s footprint: 31 unique well records, including 19 in Loving County, five in Reeves and five in Winkler. Most are identified as injection wells. Seven Loving County records are associated with the PBAR SWD lease, with licence dates extending into 2025. These are well records with licence dates; they do not independently establish when each well was drilled or placed in service.

OilGasLeads’ Texas air permit data shows eight Select records, six received in 2026. They include an Orla-area saltwater disposal registration in Reeves County and three Breakwater recycling or treatment registrations received September 8 in Howard, Upton and Glasscock counties. The filings indicate permitting activity, not confirmed facility start-up. Following the acquisition, Select projects a combined network with 4.8 million barrels per day of disposal capacity, 3.8 million barrels per day of recycling capacity and more than 1,600 miles of pipelines.

Industry Impact

Produced-water gathering, disposal and recycling are essential to sustained Permian production. A larger contracted network can support the infrastructure behind the U.S. “Safe Barrel”: domestic oil supply backed by established operating capacity and water-management services. The transaction also increases the scale at which Select can serve operators across active Delaware Basin development areas.

OFS Sales Strategy

Prioritize Select’s water infrastructure and procurement teams, then map opportunities around the Reeves County disposal registration and the Howard, Upton and Glasscock recycling and treatment filings. Suppliers of pumps, pipe, water treatment equipment, automation, monitoring and well services can use those specific records to start informed conversations, while confirming each project’s status and purchasing schedule before forecasting work.

Two-Sentence Summary

Select Water Solutions plans to acquire Pilot Water Solutions for $700 million, adding a contracted produced-water network concentrated in the Delaware Basin. OilGasLeads data identifies 31 Pilot Texas well records and eight Select Texas air permit records, providing a closer view of their disposal and recycling activity.
