The Anadarko Basin leads major Lower 48 plays in full-cycle economics at $60/bbl, according to Enverus Intelligence Research, supported partly by lower acquisition costs and expanding drilling inventory.
- Inventory: 8,055 gross operated drilling locations, up 37% year over year, including 1,554 with half-cycle breakevens below $50/bbl WTI.
- Development areas: Improving economics expanded viable inventory across the Northwest, Cherokee and Merge.
- Ownership: Private operators control 70% of gross operated inventory, while public operators’ share of production has fallen from approximately 50% in 2020 to 25%.
- Investment and growth: More than $4 billion in M&A has occurred year to date, and EIR forecasts production growth of 15% through 2030.
Sales implication: Private operators and consolidating companies represent an increasingly important customer base for drilling, production equipment, facility infrastructure and maintenance services.
