Chesapeake Energy’s merger with Southwestern Energy has been approved after regulatory delays, forming Expand Energy, which will be headquartered in Oklahoma City. The $7.4 billion deal makes Expand Energy the largest natural gas producer in the U.S., with a stronger presence in the Haynesville play. The company will be publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker “EXE” and aims to compete globally in energy markets.
