Cogent Midstream to build 100 miles of gathering pipeline in Permian

Last week Cogent Midstream was approved by the Texas Rail Road Commission Pipeline Permit # 8780 103 miles new pipeline COKE, CROCKETT, GLASSCOCK, IRION, MITCHELL, NOLAN, REAGAN, STERLING, TOM GREEN, UPTON.

This permit is in addition to the pervious announcement of the construction of a new gas plant and transport pipeline.

  • Big Lake Natural Gas Processing & Big Lake II natural gas cryogenic processing plant capacity to process 200 MMcf/d and will bring Cogent’s total processing capacity to approximately 510 MMcf/d Complex located in Reagan County. The Big Lake II cryogenic gas processing plant will cater to the increasing natural gas production from the Wolfcamp formation.
  • Construct an approximately 25-mile pipeline that will deliver residue gas from its Big Lake Natural Gas Processing Complex located in Reagan County in the Midland Basin of West Texas to Kinder Morgan’s Gulf Coast Express Pipeline (GCX Pipeline).

Cogent operates the largest private greenfield gathering and processing system in the Southern Midland Basin. Approximately 796 miles of pipeline and five active processing plants serve Coke, Crockett, Glassock, Irion, Mitchell, Reagan, Schleicher, Sterling, Tom Green and Upton counties. Our customers represent many of the most active drillers in the Permian.
