In North Louisiana, the Haynesville Shale holds steady at 24 active rigs, with two new wells this week. Leading operators include Expand Energy with eight rigs, Apex Natural Gas with five, and Comstock with four. Rosestone Operating adds one rig in Claiborne Parish, bringing the North Louisiana total to 25 rigs.
In South Louisiana, rig activity slipped slightly to seven rigs, with Magnetar Operating, ExxonMobil, and LA Storage among the key players.
Offshore, the Gulf of Mexico remains stable at 10 active rigs, keeping Louisiana’s total rig count at 42.
It was a light week for permitting, with two new offshore permits—one each from Shell and Chevron—and just two new land permits in Bienville Parish.
