Ovintiv finds major producing wells near El Reno, OK

It’s what Ovintiv did earlier this spring in completing three Canadian County wells, each producing from 1,400 barrels to nearly 2,000 barrels a day.

The Jorge wells are located at 7 14N 7W in Canadian county and at the west side of the city of El Reno. All three were spud in August of 2022 and completed in May of this year with production from the Mississippi formation.

The Jorge 1407 2H-31X was the largest producer at 1,951 barrels of oil a day and 2,497 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 20,078 feet and a true vertical depth of 8,814 feet.

The Jorge 1407 3H-31X produced 1,651 barrels of oil a day and 2,426 Mcf of natural gas. The total depth was 18,623 feet while reports on file showed a true vertical depth of 8,925 feet.

The smallest of the wells, the Jorge 1407 4H-31X, still had sizeable production of 1,411 barrels of oil a day and 2,266 Mcf of natural gas. The total drilling depth was 17,140 feet while the true vertical depth was 8,912 feet.

Adding the total oil production from the three wells and it came to 5,013 barrels of oil a day and 7,189 Mcf of natural gas.
