PetroLegacy Energy is a privately-held exploration and production company based in Austin, Texas. PetroLegacy Energy II, LLC was formed in September 2016 with an equity commitment from EnCap Investments, L.P. The Company is actively pursuing the acquisition and development of oil and gas properties in the Permian Basin. PetroLegacy currently operates in the Midland Basin where it holds a substantial acreage position primarily in Martin County.
Operations
PetroLegacy Energy currently operates in the Midland Basin with more than 250 producing wells and over 25,000 acres. The position is currently offset by multiple operators with ongoing development and delineation in the Spraberry and Wolfcamp horizons.
The Midland Basin encompasses a 13,000 square mile area of West Texas. It contains all or parts of 20 counties in West Texas, ranging from Terry and Lynn on the north to Crockett and Schleicher on the south. Much of the tight oil development in the Midland Basin has occurred in the center of the basin, primarily in Martin, Midland, Upton, Howard, Glasscock, and Reagan counties at depths of 7,000 feet (ft) to 10,000 ft
