Bridger Photonics, Inc. to deploy methane detecting technology to help Repsol spot fugitive methane

Spanish-owed Repsol owns 214,000 net acres of leases in the Marcellus Shale, primarily located in northeastern Pennsylvania in Bradford, Susquehanna, and Tioga counties. Earlier this year, Repsol said it was working with certification authority MiQ to have all of its Marcellus production (roughly 1.5 billion cubic feet per day from ~680 wells) certified as “responsibly produced” (see Repsol Pursues MiQ Responsible Gas Cert for Marcellus Production).

As part of the MiQ certification process, Bridger Photonics, Inc. will deploy its airborne methane detecting laser technology to help Repsol spot fugitive methane leaking from its operations.
