Devon Energy reports big natural gas production from Blaine County wells

Turns out Devon Energy had four wells on a single pad in Blaine County with production of more than 1,500 barrels of oil a day and nearly 29,000 Mcf of natural gas.

he Oklahoma City company filed two more completion reports a day after it filed two others showing production of  679 barrels of oil and 14,000 Mcf of natural gas a day. The two latest Pork Chop wells brought combined oil production to 1,504 barrels of oil a day while the total combined natural gas production was 29,966 Mcf a day.

Blaine County and the Greenfield community area have long been targets of Devon Energy and the four latest wells are located  at 3 14N 11W, a site about 1 mile southeast of the community of Greenfield.

The latest completion reports included the Pork Chop 3_34-14n-11w 6hx, completed in April with 416 barrels of oil a day and 5,712 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 22,195 feet. The completion report showed a true vertical depth of 11,693 feet in the Mississippi formation. It was spud in September of 2022.

The Pork Chop 3_34-14n-11w 4hx had the biggest natural gas production of 10,254 Mcf of natural gas a day along with 409 barrels of oil. Drilled depth was listed at 22,010 feet while the completion report showed true vertical depth at 11,488 feet. It too was spud in September of last year.

Devon also reported completion of a Kingfisher County well,the Smilodon 29-16n-92 5h with production of 311 barrels of oil a day and 1,634 Mcf of natural gas from the Mississippian formation. The completion report showed a total well depth at 14,310 feet while the true vertical depth was 9,326 feet. The well was spud in 2022 and completion was made January 23, 2023.
