We track Texas pipe permits weekly and each of the permits have a type (see table below). One of the permit types wee see weekly is “Pipeline Addition” (PA) this is when they add new pipeline to an existing pipeline.
This week Kinder Morgan had a Pipeline Addition Permit T00762 of 9 miles for an exiting pipeline (see case study). We have identified the more pipeline milage related to permit the higher the probability of a pipeline addition. The Kinder Morgan permit provides examples of why they are adding additional pipeline, mot common are laterals and interconnects. These types of projects often require tanks and containment solutions.
