Louisiana Green Fuels LLC (LGF) is a subsidiary of Strategic Biofuels LLC developing one of North America’s most advanced biomass-to-fuels projects in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. The project will convert sustainably sourced forestry waste into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable fuels while integrating bioenergy with carbon capture and sequestration (BECCS), making it one of the world’s first deeply carbon-negative fuel facilities.
Operational Highlights
- Headquarters/Project Location: Port of Columbia, Caldwell Parish, Louisiana
- Parent Company: Strategic Biofuels LLC
- Primary Product: Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
- Feedstock: Sustainably managed forestry waste
- Carbon Strategy: Integrated carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) with on-site Class VI injection wells
- Expected Capacity: Approximately 32–34 million gallons of renewable fuel annually, with a 100 MW biomass-fired power plant and the sequestration of approximately 1.36 million metric tons of CO₂ per year.
Well Count
- Carbon Sequestration Wells: The project is planned to include three Class VI CO₂ injection wells and multiple monitoring wells as part of its CCS complex. These are carbon storage wells, not oil or gas production wells.
