Brookston Energy Secures New Texas Pipeline Permit Following Comstock Asset Transfer

Brookston Energy has expanded its East Texas infrastructure footprint after securing a new Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) pipeline permit tied to previously transferred Comstock Oil & Gas assets. The new permit authorizes Brookston to operate approximately 390 miles of natural gas pipeline across multiple East Texas counties, strengthening the company’s growing position in the Haynesville and legacy East Texas gas corridor.

Brookston Energy, Inc. has received a new Texas pipeline permit from the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) as part of its ongoing expansion in East Texas natural gas infrastructure. The permit allows the Tyler-based operator to manage approximately 390.21 miles of gas pipeline spanning Cherokee, Harrison, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, and Smith counties.

The permit, issued under Permit Number 10774, became effective through the RRC’s Pipeline Permitting and Mapping Section and remains valid through February 28, 2027. The system is classified as a private gas pipeline network transporting natural gas throughout Brookston’s East Texas operating region.

The approval follows a previously disclosed pipeline transfer transaction involving Comstock Oil & Gas, LLC. Transfer filings show Brookston Energy assumed responsibility for portions of Comstock’s pipeline infrastructure effective September 1, 2025, while applying for a new standalone permit structure through the RRC rather than operating under the existing Comstock permit. The transfer appears to support Brookston’s broader strategy of consolidating mature upstream and midstream assets in the Haynesville and East Texas gas market.

Brookston Energy is a privately held oil & gas operator headquartered in Tyler, Texas, focused on acquiring and optimizing mature natural gas and oil assets across East Texas and North Louisiana. The company operates hundreds of producing wells and has built a business model centered around extending the life of legacy gas assets through production optimization, workovers, and infrastructure integration.

The pipeline expansion also follows Brookston’s recent acquisition of multiple East Texas air permits formerly held by Comstock Resources. Those air permit transfers included tank battery and facility assets in Harrison and Panola counties, further expanding Brookston’s operational footprint in the region and signaling continued growth through strategic asset acquisitions.
