More drilling is planned in Oklahoma STACK Play

A definite trend in oil and gas drilling in Oklahoma has been displayed in recent permits to drill approved by the Corporation Commission.

More drilling is planned in the STACK with more permits for Canadian, Blaine and Kingfisher Counties, the ones that primarily make up the shale play.

Oklahoma Wells Permits Last 90 Days

For in the past week, Citizen Energy III LLC obtained two permits for Canadian County. One was for the MCBEE #1H-10-15, a well to be drilled at 03 11N 10W, a site several miles east of Hinton. The Tulsa-based company, according to its permit, plans a well in the Mississippian.

A second Citizen Energy well, the DRIES #2H-33-4, will be drilled immediately south of Union City. The amended permit, indicated the site is at 33 11N 7W in the County.

Devon Energy plans to continue its oil and gas exploration in Blaine County with the DAKOTA CAROL 27_34-15N-10W #2HX, at 27 15N 10W. The amended permit shows the well is southeast of Watonga.

Ovintiv USA Inc. pushes ahead with another Kingfisher County well. An amended permit to drill was issued for the KRETCHMAR 1507 #3H-2X, located south of the city of Kingfisher at 35 16N 7W.

Two more Kingfisher County wells will be drilled by BCE-MACH III LLC.  Both will be drilled on a single pad at 26 17N 6W, a site about six miles southeast of Dover. The permits show they are the DOUGHERTY 23-17-6 #1H and the DOUGHERTY 26-17-6 #1H.

Two Alfalfa County wells will be drilled by Aexco Petroleum Inc., a company based in Denver, Colorado. The CROSSROADS #2-2H, sited at 02 25N 11W is south of the town of Cherokee, according to its permit.

A second Aexco well, the WALKER #3-11H, will be at an adjacent site at 02 25N 11W. The permit shows the same land owner.

Mewbourne Oil Company, based in Tyler, Texas plans 3 wells in western Oklahoma, two in Custer County and one in Ellis County. The ABERNATHY 1 AP #1H, and the BARRICK 36 PA #1H, will be located at 01 13N 17W, a site several miles north of Arapaho.

Mewbourne also plans to drill the BROSH UNIT 34/3 BO #5HC, at 27 22N 26W which is a site northwest of the town of Shattuck.

A Dewey County well, the VIRGIE 26 #1H, located southeast of Taloga at 26 18N 16W will be drilled by Unit Petroleum Co. of Tulsa.

Stephens County well permits have gone to Camino Natural Resources Inc. of Denver and Continental Resources Inc. based in Oklahoma City.

Camino obtained a permit for the CHISHOLM TRAIL 0104 #11-14-1MXH, to be located 4 miles northeast of Velma at 11 1S 4W

Continental Resources has a permit to drill the  VILLAGE #1-15-10XHW, which is a site about a mile south of the Camino well, at
22 1S 4W.

XTO Energy Inc. received a permit to drill a Love County well, the  TIMS #1-35H26X27X22X15. Located at 35 7S 2E, the well site is about 3 miles southeast of Marietta.

BNK Petroleum (US) Inc. has a permit for the BARNES #8-4H, to be drilled at 05 4S 4E, which is several miles northeast of Dickson. BNK Petroleum is a company based in Newbury Park, California.
