Vital Energy has officially acquired the Copperhead 23 1H oil and gas battery in Reeves County, Texas, from Red Willow Production, LLC. The transfer, finalized through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), was recorded on April 1, 2025, as part of an Air New Source Review (NSR) Change of Ownership project.
This acquisition strengthens Vital Energy’s footprint in the Permian Basin, a core area for the company’s growth strategy. The site is now listed under Vital’s TCEQ account and falls within Region 07 – Midland.
As development continues across the Delaware Basin, this move reflects ongoing consolidation trends among mid-sized operators seeking operational efficiencies and scale.
