Brazos Midstream Expands Permian Basin Operations with New Gas Processing Plant and Infrastructure

Brazos Midstream Holdings LLC is making significant strides in its expansion efforts within the Permian Basin’s Midland area. The company has recently completed the construction of a new cryogenic gas processing plant and is nearing the finish line on a substantial gas-gathering infrastructure project. These developments mark a major milestone in Brazos Midstream’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its midstream capabilities to meet the growing demands of its upstream customers.

Sundance I Cryogenic Gas Processing Plant:

  • Mechanical completion reached as of August 15, 2024.
  • Located in Martin County, Texas.
  • Processing capacity: 200 MMcfd.
  • Commercial service expected to begin in October 2024.

Gas-Gathering Infrastructure Project:

  • Nearly complete.
  • Includes 175 miles of new high-pressure gas-gathering pipelines (16-24 inches in diameter).
  • Infrastructure spans Ector, Howard, Martin, Midland, Glasscock, and Reagan counties in the Midland Basin.
  • Midland Basin system will total 260 miles of gas-gathering pipelines and 10 compressor stations once operational.

Future Expansion:

  • A second cryogenic gas processing plant in the Midland Basin announced.
  • Processing capacity: 300 MMcfd.
  • Scheduled to be online by the end of 2025.
  • Will increase Brazos Midstream’s total gas processing capacity in the Midland Basin to 500 MMcfd.

Overall Permian Basin Infrastructure:

  • Total of 1,200 miles of high-pressure natural gas, NGL, and crude oil gathering pipelines across the Delaware and Midland Basins.
  • Operates the Comanche natural gas processing complex in the Southern Delaware Basin (Reeves County, Texas) with a capacity of 460 MMcfd, supported by 900 miles of gathering pipelines.

Strategic Goal:

  • Aiming to increase total Permian Basin gas processing capacity to approximately 1 bcfd by 2025.
