What is the definition of an Environmental Engineer?
An Oil & Gas Environmental Engineer is responsible for regulatory and environmental management of upstream/Midstream/downstream oil & gas operations.
What are the responsibilities of an Environmental Engineer?
- Lead incident investigations, emergency response drills, audits, and conduct various project field assessments of oil and gas construction sites/crews.
- Prepare Greenhouse Gas report for submission to the EPA, benchmark annual emissions for the peer group.
- Track and apply changes in GHGRP.
- Manage company’s spill remediation projects, waste management, SPCC and various other regulatory compliance programs for assets located in Texas.
- Focus on air, environmental liability reduction, and regulatory by providing strategic direction.
- Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC); Annual SPCC Inspections and resulting corrective actions
- Provide regulatory expertise to manage permitting and regulatory compliance from early project stages through to construction and startup for a wide variety of facilities, pipelines, and other energy related projects.
- Provide leadership to environmental, operations, and management teams to support proactive efforts related to environmental and sustainability initiatives.
- Environmental compliance in the Oil & Gas Industry; ensuring that environmental regulations, laws, and standards are being met under both Federal and State requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with water, waste, and air regulations for crude oil operations and support field operations teams with regulatory compliance issues.
