WildFire Energy Expands East Texas Eagle Ford Operations with Major Acquisitions

WildFire Energy I LLC has been rapidly expanding its operations in the East Texas Eagle Ford through significant acquisitions, including 16,000 net acres and 58 wells in June 2024, 237,000 net acres and 465 wells from Apache Corporation in May 2024, and 377,000 net acres and 1,350 wells from Chesapeake Energy in January 2023. These acquisitions have increased WildFire’s total operational footprint to over 850,000 net acres, significantly boosting their production capacity.

Supported by Warburg Pincus and Kayne Anderson, WildFire aims to consolidate the Eagle Ford basin, optimize production, and leverage economies of scale.

Acquisition Summary

  1. June 3, 2024: WildFire acquired approximately 16,000 net acres of leasehold and 58 operated wells from an undisclosed seller. This acquisition will allow WildFire to operate over 2,000 wells on 873,000 net acres across several Texas counties.
  2. May 20, 2024: WildFire entered a definitive agreement to acquire 237,000 net acres and interests in 465 wells from Apache Corporation. This acquisition boosts WildFire’s operations to over 850,000 net acres, including significant prospects in the Austin Chalk and other formations. This acquisition will increase WildFire’s net daily production to over 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent (85% liquids).
  1. January 18, 2023: WildFire acquired 377,000 net acres and approximately 1,350 wells from Chesapeake Energy Corporation in the Brazos Valley region. This acquisition expanded WildFire’s operations to 600,000 net acres and boosted production by 27,700 barrels of oil equivalent per day during Q3 2022.
  2. March 7, 2022: WildFire acquired 45,000 net acres and 200 operated wells from MD America Energy. This deal increased WildFire’s operations to 210,000 net acres, contributing to a combined production of approximately 16,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022.
  3. August 2021: WildFire acquired Hawkwood Energy LLC, bringing in 160,000 net acres and increasing liquids-weighted production.
