In addition to these main types of pipelines, there are also four other sub-categories of pipelines: Gathering Lines, Feeder Lines, Transmission Pipelines and Distribution Pipelines. SHELL PIPELINE COMPANY LP – 46 Miles of New Pipeline – CHAMBERS, HARRIS

Shell Pipeline Company LP has helped meet America’s energy needs for 100 years as we trace the beginnings of Shell in the pipeline business back to 1919 through the acquisition of Yarhola Pipe Line Company, later renamed Ozark Pipe Line Company.

Shell Deer Park’s location near major products pipelines and dock facilities is one of its most important assets. This provides the site with numerous transportation advantages and significantly increases efficiency when delivering or receiving products. Most chemicals from Deer Park are shipped via pipelines, but the site also uses ships, barges, rail cars and trucks to supply customers in the U.S. and foreign countries.

With its strategic location along the US Gulf Coast, proximity to major refining complexes, underground storage capacity, and access to onshore and offshore transportation for shipping liquids to market, Mont Belvieu, Tex., continues to attract plans for fractionation expansions alongside North America’s flourishing shale gas production.
